Shop & Seek
A community grocery scavenger hunt designed to make food access joyful, dignified, and engaging.

About Five Fifths
Five Fifths is a community-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting gamers, content creators, and digital creatives through access, education, and inclusive community programming. We believe gaming and content creation are powerful tools for connection, skill-building, and economic opportunity, especially for individuals who may feel excluded from traditional creative or professional spaces.
Our work focuses on creating safe, structured environments where gamers and creators can learn, collaborate, and grow. Through community events, creative programming, and resource-based initiatives, we aim to meet immediate needs while building pathways toward long-term opportunity and innovation.
What Is Shop & Seek?
At Five Fifths, we believe community care can be creative, joyful, and empowering. Shop & Seek was created to reimagine food access as a shared experience – one that centers dignity, collaboration, and curiosity rather than scarcity. This event is a guided, team-based grocery scavenger hunt hosted inside a local grocery store. Participants work together to solve riddles, locate grocery items, and earn essential food to keep along the way. The experience is designed to be fun, respectful, and community-centered.
How The Event Works
1. Participants are placed into small groups with a volunteer guide.
2. Each group solves a series of riddles together.
3. One group member retrieves the correct grocery item per riddle.
4. Items are gathered, checked, and fairly distributed.
5. Groups complete the experience and receive a small surprise at the end.
Who This Event Is For
Through programs that blend play, learning, and support, we at Five Fifths, aim to create experiences that strengthen individuals and communities alike. Shop & Seek is designed for individuals and families who enjoy collaborative activities and are comfortable participating in a small group setting. Participants should be able to follow instructions, move respectfully through the store, and engage in a shared experience.
